Got my sample Race Deck tiles in today! Wow that was fast!

Anyway, first impressions. VERY nice! 12" tiles made of plastic, which itnerlock together. I got black and white tile, snaped together within 2 seconds.

First test --fluid test (water, orange juice and peanut oil... I was cleaning the kitchen LOL). No leaks when the tiles are assembled (at the seams) and the stuff wipes right off.

Second test -- stomp test. I took my 230lb body and jumped, ran, slid, skipped, spun etc. etc over the tiles. I can't do a good latteral skid test because It didn't have enough surface area (like when it's put in a garage) but it did'nt move at all once I was standing on it. They have little "feet" on the bottom which grip concreat and keep it from sliding.

Third -- clean up from the second test. Left nice foot prints and scuff marks. They cleaned up with water.

Only problem I saw is that since it is plastic, deep scratches will show (especialy on the lighter tiles) but since it's modular, you can replace any damaged stuff.

Overall, very cool stuff! I'm doing a graphite/steel checker combo in my garage! I'll have photos of the install in a few weeks.

And no, I wasn't paid for my endorsement (although it would be nice.. hint hint jorgen

He posted the prices once, but i've lost the list. I'll try to dig it up. VCA members get a discount IIRC.

Nothing should happen, but i'm going to test it on my 'cudas frame over night. He said there are no lasting affects of having large amounts of weight on the tiles, as these diamond plates are designed for heavy duety garage use. i'll keep you guys informed.

MadMax:
I am glad you recieved your samples in a timely matter... As for"jacking up" on the tiles, you should have no problem. They only time you will see any damage is if you use an angle-iron style jack (3 post type) these tend to become quite sharp and can leave a indent or cut through., another culprit is Brake cleaner with Chloride, it will leave a dull residue finish onthe tiles.
These tiles are plastic but are extremely durable. We have tested rolling loads in excess of 15,000 lbs on a flat surface with no problems. If you ever did crush you tile, it is covered under warranty for 10 years.

If you like, I will be back in the office on Wendsday and you can call me with any questions and/or VCA pricing ( I am not in the office right now).....800-457-0174

It says to just sweep the area before laying them down, but i'm going to wash it with my pressure washer.

There are little molding pieces that meet the walls, and sloping pieces that can be attached for runoff.

>>>Try looking on this page and see the b&w tiles, it has the edging http://www.racedeck.com/styles.htm <<<

You must be registered for see images

The only edge piece I could find.

Seems it does NOT fit to a wall, or?
I would like to see a piece with a slope upwards to the wall...

The Ramp Edge is designed as a transitional piece. You do not need to have one along any wall. You can simply cut the RaceDeck to create any size wall-to-wall custom floor. In fact, you need to have about a 1/4" gap along all walls for expansion and contraction. You can hide the gap with wall cove molding, but it is really not necessary....

feel free to call me...By the way, how do I post a picture only from my files?
Thanks

Ramp edge:
If you go to our site www.racedeck.com and/or ww.snaplock.com and browse around and you will find various pictures of the "transitional ramp edging" in use.

Install:

Basically the only surface prep you need to do is sweep away any debris. Remember, with RaceDeck you never glue or permantly fasten it to the substrate, it is a free-floating floor system. A typical garage takes about 3-4 hours to complete ( including all trimming)...we have detailed instructions and can walk you through it on the phone if needed. We also have local dealers in many parts of the country who so installations.

Can´t find sample pictures of the edge pieces alone. Please post some good pics of the various edge pieces. Thanks.

You have to put the "internet link" between

["IMG"]http://www.yourlinktothepicture.jpg["/IMG"]

brackets like the above ones. Without the "".

A link to a picture stored on your harddrive will not work.
