I ran across some caliper covers for the rear on EBAY. Does anyone have any experience with these. I assume they are meant to make the smaller rear calipers look like the fronts.

are you talking about the cheap-looking pieces of flat plastic that fit on the front of the calipers in a very poor attempt to look like calipers that have been painted red?

if you are, dont get 'em. i have seen them in person, and they look like cheap-looking pieces of flat plastic that fit on the front of the calipers in a very poor attempt to look like calipers that have been painted red. :D

do it right, dont waste your time or money, and get the calipers powder coated. you will be glad you did.

I bought them years ago from Zero Altitude. They cover up the fugly Gen I/II rear calipers. In black they matched the fronts fairly well.

Big Brake Dave kept pounding me about how his package has a much higher bling factor, so this is the response. They are thin aluminum plate, cut in the shadow outline of the fronts, reduced in size slightly for perspective, powdercoated black, red, blue and yellow, and have a brake-temperature quality decal. Comes with stainless mounting hardware and flex-loc nuts. They clear stock 17" wheels and were on the fastest car at the recent NY/CT- vs. NJ autocross challenge (mine!)

If the concept takes hold, I'll also offer them in custom colors and lettering for a reasonable added charge.

Got just enough hints that the non-ABS calipers are fugly. As Dave brought up, 40mm brakes were 1st, 2nd, and 4th in the NY/CT vs. NJ autocross, so they do work. But they look pretty ...uh.. plain...
