ive decided on 3:55 and now the fever is starting as im thinking hmmm if 3:55 is better, perhaps 3:73 is best? any input? i am sure of maintaining daily driver status with a 3:55, is this still viable with a 3:73? also, im getting a Roe supercharger, how will this work with either of these mod rears? will it be too much HP for these rears?

In first and second @6000 rpm with a gear of;
3.07 57 mph 85 mph
3.55 49 mph 74 mph
3.73 47 mph 70 mph
I don't know about you but my stock 94 runs out of first gear real fast as it is. If you are going to have a real drag race car and you want to do everything reasonable to get every tenth, then go for the high gears and big slicks. If you have a street car, even with a blower, I don't think you need to change the gears. How many times are you going to run from a dead stop with a street car? After you are rolling 15 mph the rear gear isn't worth much if anything.

I know it must be tempting to go with gears for that extra pull, but I'd advise against it if you are getting the Roe Supercharger as well.

I just read a couple posts about Viper owners who got gears, and now are all going BACK to 3.07s now that they have added more power.

I think that 525hp(crank) would be the max that I'd go with 3.55s unless I was changing the tires, and didn't care as much about streetability. Up to that power point they are a good bang-for-the-bucks mod.

I had the same thoughts as you did, I am also getting the Roe supercharger with a BTR Dual Stage NOS system once I get a different car.

Sean told me the gears would be fine on a non boosted or non nos'd car, but with the extra boost, the 355 will be to low, you will just run right through them with little grip.

If you are just looking to burn the tires and impress people riding with you then that is the way to go.

Sean recommended to just go with 1 3/4 header/cat back and super charger and leave stock 307 in rear. The car will move alot faster with the boost.

I would put the super charger on first and see how it runs. if its still not enought torque, then put the 355 in the rear.

From what I hear you will not be disappoint in the SC, I am going to go over tomorrow and drive his 96 gts with SC and will let you know.

You are going with the same set up I am. I already have the BTR 2 stage and am awaiting the SC from Sean. I need to talk to Sean about the intake setup myself as the BTR has a fuel cell mounted on the crossmember. I want to make sure I have the room to do this and fill it too.

I am planning going back to the 3.07 although my viper tech says 3.43. I think that will be too low myself.

3.55 was a lot of fun with minor mods.

Sorry to be O/T, but do you have any dyno numbers or drag times with your current nitrous setup? Thanks.

No times yet. I am missing some parts and will have to wait until I get them all before I can get installation done.
Ask Tom welch what he runs with the 2 stage-low 10's I think

in a stock setup and street tires, after 15 mph is when the rear gear change will outrun the 3.07 in acceleration.. (except for top speed)

Put a blower on that adds 250+ hp and it's better to stay with the 3.07 and use those long legs.
