While adjusting my drivers door someone at the Dodge dealer mashed the lateral support wire on my drivers seat. Dodge ordered me a new seat but now I gotta bring the car in, leave it get a ride to and from and it's a general pain in the a$$. I was thinking of removing the seat myself and when the new one comes in just swap them if it's not too difficult a job, so all you guys with a Northwind seat lowering kit "How hard is it to remove and replace the seat only?".

CAUTION !

While removing the seat can be easy, you can EASILY cause some SERIOUS damage to the console, rear bulkhead, and the door surround if you do not plan ahead. The 4 ends of the seat tracks are the culprits...sharp, gouging doohickeys.

Loosen the seat tracks in the car. PUT A SOCK OVER IT! The seat track ends that is.....or a rag, or something. The awkward jockying to get it out of a GTS can gouge the console, the rear bulkhead, the door panel, and the door sill surround. BE CAREFUL.

RT/10s have it mush easier w/ top off !!

Removing and replacing the seat should take less than a couple of minutes. There are just four bolts holding them down which are real easy to get to.

The front two bolts are easily accessible by pushing the seat all the way back and the rear two are easily accessible by pushing the seat forward and moving the back of the seat as far forward as possible. The seat is real light and lifts right out. Also, you'll need to take the seat belt loop off the seat too (two philipshead screws).

Putting the seat lowering kit on is a little more involved but is easily accomplished by following the instructions they provide.
