I'm so tired of searching, only to find some M.I.C. piece of crap that I have to return because it doesn't even come close to working properly.

So, I'm offering a reward.
I won't be a bar of gold or anything like that, but it will be cash-money.

SUBJECTS:
- RB1 head unit (AI version)
- Factory-installed UConnect
- Ipod Touch

CRITERIA:
- iPod adapter that works with the Chrysler RB1 head unit ***and*** the UConnect handsfree system.
- NOT the Mopar iPod Integration system ( p/n# 82209616A(x) ).
- Must have BLACK iPod connection cable and plug.
- Must charge the iPod.
- Must work on the first try. No hot-wiring. No guessing. No "their website says...".

I may add criteria as many of these adapter companies never cease to amaze me in regards to their outlandish claims, false promises and immense ineptitude.

Thanks everyone.

MAJOR props to VCA member "85 of 200" for his help yesterday with this issue.
Great guy to talk with.
I think I met someone as thorough as I am! :)

I am assuming you found an answer?

Edit - Maybe before I open my mouth I should see if there are two threads running....

Not exactly.
Just went over some "can happen" and "won't happen" regarding my requested setup.
And he tried to score me a possible pre-owned Mopar unit that I could mod. Turned out to be for the newer CAN-BUS radios. *sigh*

I'm still in absolute awe that they didn't offer UConnect on the Viper cars.
Call me crazy, but you'd think that with a vehicle that does almost 200 mph, you'd want both hands on the wheel.

I know.
There I go thinkin' again.

Just be careful as he is a detective with the local police department. Which is why he can also walk you through the best radar detector installs too... :D

Let me know what happens, you have basically done everything I would have, but Im sure the mopar unit will work, EXCEPT charging. Good talking to you and call if you need anything.
