richmond gears in a 97 up gts part # 49-0108-1

I was looking to upgrade the rearend with richmond gears part # 49-0108-1
But when I called richmond they said they Could not tell me if it will fit in a 1997 viper gts,
He mentioned something about a super 44 in the newer vipers??

Im Just wondering if the gears will work for me??

Please let me know

Yes they will work. They were designed for the Corvette housing.
If I remember correctly the pinion pre-load is set with a shim pack rather than a crush collar like the Viper gear.
Noise might be an issue. (hit or miss)
I worked there for 14 years.

so does that mean the rear diff is all the same from 92 - 2002 and there is no super 44?

If they work summit racing I call

The 44 model under the Viper was originally was installed under the 84-96 Corvette. It is also used under the 94-present Grand Cherokee. The Corvette rebuilders buy their parts from Dodge and save a considerable amount of money.
