Roe Racing\'s Fire Extinguisher...

Roe Racing has delivered another success...a PERFECT-FIT mounting brachet/bottle holder for their extinguisher...designed for SRT-10, attaches to the 2 front seat mounting bolts, passenger's side...takes less than 5 minutes to install using a 15mm socket, and 30 lb-ft. of torque to secure.

MANY THANKS, Sean and Dave

Wow, Steve, if you can do it in less than 5 minutes, it would take me only 15 minutes --and that is very acceptable,ha.

It is worth the bucks to get the bracket, as it is reasonably priced and it does speed up the install.

If it is mounted on the floor of the passenger side, how could you possibly reach it? Particularly if you've got your seatbelt on, I don't see how it would be accessible.

It seems like the only practical place to put a fire extinguisher would be covering the big stereo speaker in the center back of the console. Then you could access it easily.

Am I wrong on this? Can the driver actually reach it?

I had this same Roe system mounted in my GTS and it was great. VERY easy to reach over the console and pull it from the bracket if need be. Never had to pull the trigger, but did yank it out in a hurry once when another car in the staging lanes caught fire. No problem!

Re: Roe Racing\'s Fire Extinguisher...

I have NO trouble reaching extinguishers mounted in this location with the stock seat belts ON...have them in Gen I's, GenII's, and Gen III.

Kai, for us, this is a perfect situation...noting, this is NOT a racecar fire suppression system which is a totally different piece of hardware and application ( and in a racecar, one certainly needs the BUTTON close at hand given the 5 and 6 point harness systems!!).

By the way, Bill...the 5 min. time was no joke...this is much easier than Gen II...and the Gen I is the most time consuming as the seat overlaps the front bolts by a greater degree....but fear not, Uncle Bill...Rick Maxwell can do it FOR you :D :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Re: Roe Racing\'s Fire Extinguisher...

can someone post a pic?

These are not in the SRT-10, but are poor pictures from my GTS with what I assume is the exact same set up:

Notice that the quick release tabs are towards the driver's side and that it sits low enough so as not to interfere with the passenger at all - their legs go well above it. Very well worth it and I will place a call into Roe myself now that I have seen my old pics. Besides the obvious safety factor, it just looks cool!

Re: Roe Racing\'s Fire Extinguisher...

Just got my Roe Racing extinguisher. Installed it last night. Took about 10 minutes. Would have taken 5 minutes if I hadn't tried to put the bracket between the seat rail and bolt holes at first. Once I figured out that the bracket just got screwed in on top it was a five minute job.

Hope I never have to use it.
