Roe Supercharger - Please Post Seat-Of-The-Pants Reports

I'm still waiting for Sean to send me my supercharger, and while I wait, I'd like to read more reports on it, from the basic installation to what it's like to drive it on the street. Sean says mine should be shipped to me very soon and I'd like to finish up the roll of paper towels by my computer that I used to wipe up my slobber as I read reports on how it does at the track. I don't plan on tracking myself, so I'm more interested in how it drives on the street. Sean said he's sent out enough superchargers already and that there's been time for a lot of them to be installed already...and I still have 80% of my roll of paper towels still left.

From what I here you will need to trade in your paper towels for a roll of toilet paper. As the power will scare sh*t out of you LOL

I am sure you have read my previous posts, but anyway I am putting the street tires back on tommorow I have not driven the car without the slicks on it yet which was kind of nice for that stick to the pavement feeling I got when I did a roll on at 10 mph and WOW hang the F on it motors my friend with a low 11 second C5 said"I can feel it push my stomach into my back and it hurts" if that is a good description for you.

jimandela -

"Are you the first yellow Roe SC??"

I sure hope so. Once again, proof the Yellow Vipers got the stronger engines.

In addition to the how fast it goes in a straight line, I'd like to get a feel for normal driveability (does it get way hot, etc.)

Also if anyone has put this thing on a roadcourse or autocross, Id be interested to see what the heat, etc. issues were like.

I know its early Im patient.

I know the number of Roe Superchargers sent out already is very close to 35 - that's what number I am on the list. Most of them should be installed by now.

Enquiring minds want to know.

And my mind, too.

NSANE1,

Street divability has been fine typical stop and go traffic the 200 range, on the highway with the 180 t-state it runs real cool. I will let you know about track events I am going to Watkins Glen for the weekend to run the car. Also I heard there is a viper with the ROE S/C heads and cam that made over 725 RWHP and OVER 750 RWTQ. WOW WOW WOW

Will post more soon but my right wrist is aching from having to change up gears so much faster now

! It pulls real strong, and I'm finding I have to shift up loads sooner than before. I used to floor the gas pedal and always shift at 5000 rpm, but, that rev counter climbs so quick now, if I'm not real fast on the shifting I'm hitting the limiter (6200)

I too fitted the 180 T-stat while I had the inlet manifold off. I already had the Fluidlyne rad, but didn't notice cooler running until the lower T-stat also.

I have noticed a little more oil blowing out the valve covers since SCing. Sean includes a solution to this in his kit, but I've tapped into the top of the covers with 90 degree bends to collection bottles (probably not favorable in the interests of saving the planet, but even a good girl has to be bad sometimes!).

S K Ra...yellow or any color, I think you will like it!

The 70mm throttle bodies enhance driving, they give a more instant throttle response. Makes the throttle very real time, and sharp (the kind of response you get on a big sports motorbike).

Besides that, the polished look matches the polished finish I chose on the SC!

You will need bigger silicone hoses off your air box (3" ID). I've opened up the back of my air box to accommodate them, but Sean Roe sells the larger rear air box portion anyway if needed. I think the larger throttle bodies set up is good for about 10-12 bhp over the OE ones, with the Roe SC.

I still wanna be the 3rd Yellow Viper with a supercharger!

Winter weather is a-knockin' on Ohio's doorstep and I want to at least make a few mandatory WOT runs to calibrate my VEC1 with the Roe Supercharger before my Viper becomes more of a Garage Queen than King of the Road.

Thanks to those of you that posted reports already. To those of you that haven't, please post them ASAP.

Becky Roe called today to tell me my supercharger is being shipped to me and should get to me later this week - I'm #35 on the list for those of you who are keeping tract. I also talked with Sean about my mods and his supercharger. The MSD box is probably only needed for full throttle runs with my Viper. I laid a 200 foot parallel patch of rubber last night at only 1/3 throttle, so I can easily wait the 2 weeks or so for the MSD box, since I think the cold air in Ohio has added lots more power to my Viper and the roads are too cold now to give good traction.

I will be posting a thorough seat-of-my-pants report as it happens, from the ease of putting in the supercharger, to my first impressions at part throttle - full throttle will probably have to wait for a warm day in the spring - and anything else newsworthy about the Roe Supercharger.
