I think GTS-R 001 had one for sale not long ago

It's for a coupe but I suppose would bolt into a vert. I've been thinking about that one too. The vert is 1" taller than the coupe. I think the difference is the crossbar between the hoops is higher on the coupe version.

In a Tennessee hollow!
I just put one in my '03. I can tell you once you get it in, you don't have any thoughts of taking it out. If you could have steel hoops made in place of the existing aluminum hoops, you would be pretty safe. Not long ago there was a proposal by a member to make replacement hoops but I think he couldn't get enough interest. You could get some fabricated by a race car shop though. The bulkhead is very strong and that is where the Autoform bar bolts in at the top. I am pleased with the Autoform bar but if you aren't really serious about adding safety, I wouldn't consider it.

Im not too worried about safety just around town but at the track is a different story. The closet track to me ,VIR,wont allow my car out there without it.I doubt seriously they would except steel ones in the place of the oems.Ive considered a gen 4 coupe but we have so enjoyed the vert here at the beach[had the top down yesterday with Tim from Kansas for a photo shoot with some beautiful girls].If I get a gen 4 vert I still have the same rollover prob at the tracks. So im really wringing my hands over what to do.Thought id check and see if luckily some one had one they wanted to sell.Im looking at 2500-3k$ new, shipped ,powder coated and installed...thats 3k I wont ever get back on trade/resale and could be put toward a gen 4.Did you have yours painted?

Mine came black from Autoform but I could have had it another color. The NARRA folks told me that stock Vipers were OK for their track days. You cannot participate with the top down unless you have arm restraints. You might double check with them as I know they have a VIR event scheduled later in the year. I'm not sure about the "can't get your money back" part but I looked at the aluminium bars in my car and thought that is wasn't too safe. Don't know how many cars roll over but I sure don't want to find out in my own car. You can probably install the bar yourself too - though it is a bit daunting when you start cutting here and there.
