The RT/10 is not meant to be driven in the rain. The softtop only gives you enough protection to get somewhere out of the rain. The RT/10 hardtop provides a little more protection.

You need a GTS if rain is an issue.

Unfortunately I have been caught in the rain several times. Never had any leakage from the roof or windows. Only leak I have experienced is from the front of the doors where the weatherstrip is about an inch too short. Not enough of an issue to fix it. If your roof leaks something is wrong. Have you ever installed it before? Under normal (i.e. not raining) conditions? There are many things that could go wrong if you are assembling it under duress and haven't done it much.

Good Luck,
Ron

We get anywhere from 150-200 inches of rain here every year.
It's very common to encounter rain somewhere on any road trip.
I have heard the soft tops are not very good at keeping the
weather out. After inspecting it and the plastic side curtains
I can easily underestand why. So I have decided that the hard
top and sliding windows are the way to go. But now it sounds like there are sealing problems with the hard top as well ??
The biggest problem I anticipate with the hard top (Vipermania
I think) is not being able to stash the hard top somewhere
on the car when you encounter a long stretch of sunshine and
want a real roadster experience.
Do the hardtops really leak too ?

I've driven my '00 RT/10 in the rain once or twice and never had a problem with the hard top leaking. When I wash the car with a hose there is also no problem. The only time I got leakage in the back window was when I used a power sprayer at the car wash, but that was my fault (now I just use a regular garden hose).

I don't have any experience with the soft top.

I have a Gen 2 with a hardtop, unfortunately I have never driven it in the rain, but I can tell you this when I wash it and flood the car with a hose it stays dry inside. Also it is GREAT for long trips, we go to Las Vegas (300 miles) and at 120 mph in 110 degree heat she is quiet and cool.

Drove my 2000 RT/10 home in the rain and have hand washed it a couple of times with no leaks. It is real fun crusin' with the top off, now I know what a midwestern tornado must feel like..(without the damage)!

Soft top does leak, around the weather stripping.....windows...but I drive so infrequently in the rain that it doesn't bother me much. Hard Top never leaked
