RT/10 rear window tint?

Has anyone tinted the rear window of an rt/10? i just got a new set of v-mania windows.. and.. they are "tinted".. I took the rear window to my local tint shop (they do great work).. and they told me that the window was plactic (plexi).. and that the tint wouldn't adhere to it.. anyone ever tint this window?

Yeah that is what I have heard also, I was going to tint mine yellow. I have seen someone who spray painted the window completely black.

Fuscucla.. how'd you like that ucla/usc game?? the guy at the tint shop told me there is a transparent paint that can be sprayed on. Anyone know anything about this product? Thanks

I tinted my back window a few years ago, and to this day it is still perfect. It is a much harder job than it looks, the tint shop had a hell of a time. But they did it and it came out great.

I just noticed that you are kinda local to me, Email me and I will give you the info on the tint shop. They are very reasonable and do great work.

I have the back window tinted on my RT/10 and its perfect. They told because its plastic that it would peel off in time. But one year now and its perfect. I can post pictures if you'd like

From my experience I'd say just let someone with experience do it and will come out perfect. enjoy

Venumish.. thanks for the reply.. The tint shop i use is very good. he just said that he couldn't guarantee the work. but.. i guess im going to go ahead and get it done!.

The rear window is actually DOT approved safety GLASS. It doesn't scratch like plastic/plexiglas/lexan/etc, and if you break it or even twist it too much, it will break into 1,003 little pieces. Try it.

Window tint update.. i dropped off the window at the tint shop today. they are charging me $30. Not bad i thought. I will advise how it comes out!

Also.. when i was removing the leather snaps.. i chipped the window a bit.. so.. use caution.

back window plastic????? Huh? Am I missing something? Just take it out and you can see it's glass. My old 94 I used to have was glass and I had it tinted and performed wonderfully.

I even think the glass is stamped GLASS DOT as stated earlier in this thread..

I also have to agree that the game sucked. Losing to USC ***** in and of itself but starting out 6-0 with a Heisman front runner and a ticket to the national championship game and then going 0-4 with USC being the 4th well words can't describe it. My entire college career UCLA didn't lose to SC, in 1990 I was still in High School and now the horror THREE in a row, but like I said its tougher to take when you start 6-0 with a future that looked so promising. Side note, I was technically a Trojan for one day, I attended USC after graduating from UCLA but never went back and withdrew, and to clarify my FUSCUCLA1 was made up way back in the middle of the 8 game winning streak, I think before game 5 and all of my online log-ins have adopted it for the sake of consistency. We can take this up again next year, although it may be no different since a real QB doen't seem to be in the cards for us anytime soon, if only Carson Palmer had seen the light, hahahahahaa.
