I had a brain freeze abd ran the nose of my car up on top of a concrete island in a parking lot at night. No crazy driving here, just normal idiocy. One of the results was a 2-3 inch creack starting at the bottom edge of the inside of the front wheel well just below where the rubber fog light access hole plug is. The material appears to be a very strong composite of some type. My concerns are (i) will the crak run like glass does, and (ii) can this be repaired without taking off the whole darned front end of the car ? I am hoping that this is a case where a fairly heavy epoxy type substance may be used to fill/strengthen the crack, foloowed by sanding and repainting.

Man am I a dope !

You can fix it - or local body shop can use a very cool and very strong 2 part epoxy (30-60 second work time) and then you can sand it smooth to make it look better. We repaired the radiator core support of my car as it got a crack in it using this method and this stuff is STRONG! Since yours is visible from the outside (mine wasn't) then I'd have someone do it who was good with the epoxy.

We ground out the crack some with a Dremel and then filled with epoxy. You can use some plastic forms to help make a smooth surface and you'll be good as new!

Good luck.

I agree, SEM makes a wonderful repair epoxy. The part is SMC not really fiberglass, you should NOT use fiberglass to repair.

I would not be hesitant about having to take the facia off. Once you repair it you're going to want to paint it. Best to remove it to paint. It's not hard to remove.
