I am looking at a 97 blue/white gts with 8500 miles on her. Mods include borla headers, borla cat back exhaust,k+n filters, smooth tubes, aluminum flywheel, 3:54 rear gears, and a short throw shifter. What would this setup produce in rwhp? And is $55K a fair price? Oh, what about seat of the pants? I have a 00 vette.

Thanks, Dave

Regarding your actual rear wheel HP, its a guess at best. Regardless of that, assuming the Viper runs like it should (not hurt) it'll not only easily beat the Corvette, it'll hurt it in the process! Do you remember what Mike Tyson was like in his prime....he just didn't win fights, he destroyed his opponents. If you buy the car, you'll be saying..."Hello, Mike..."

I would say car = $50K + $5K in mods less 50% =$2.5K car with mods =$52.5K so $55 seems fair plus you don't have the pain of instillation. Check out the noise level on the road to make sure you like it. The Borla exhaust can be loud, so try before you buy.

Regards to the HP it varies but if you click here I have many Vipers with mods and HP ratings listed by the year. There are 3 97's with borla headers, exhaust, tubes, and filters right around 445-455 rwhp (very strong)

Seat of the pants? humm, well I'll just say that you might want to check them after your first drive

Oh, and some advice. Be VERY careful with it in 1st gear. With the cold weather it will break the tires loose at ANY speed in 1st gear going straight, not to mention going around a corner.
