Selling Gen 2 Arrow rebuilt engine

Does anybody need a freshly rebuilt engine from a 96 GTS. It is still in the crate. It was rebuilt by Arrow and I dont have a car to put in so I guess I will sell it.

when was the rebuild done? put another way, is it forged internals or cast?

As info - if it was rebuilt recently, it is cast. If it has been sitting a while, then it _could_ be forged... but not likely.

How do you tell if the internals are cast or forged? My Gen1 was rebuilt by Arrow last winter; does that count as recent? All the Gen1's are supposed to have forged internals, so I would think mine are. However, I'm putting on a blower this winter, and want to be sure. Is there some contact at Arrow who can confirm what went into mine?

Someone else might know another way but the only wat I know is to look at the underside of the piston.

Casting lines mean cast.
Kind of a smooth underside that looks like it was squished over a form means forged.

Or you could call arrow. There should be a build sheet on the motor. if it was rebuilt since 2000, it has cast internals b/c they rebuild with whatever the CURRENT production stuff is. RE: the GenI...i'm not sure.

The engine has forged internals. I called Arrow and they said it is forged. I just got it back from Arrow this week. I will sell it for 12000 with no core or less depending on the condition of the core.

Arrow only charges 6k for a complete refresh. So if your core isnt worth 6k to Xlr8, then just send yours to Arrow, and they'll build it for 6k same as his.
