Now that the stock sub has blown, I'm really serious about upgrading it, the speakers, and presumably the amp as well. (As opposed to more theoretical discussions before.) Between ViperDays and VOI coming up though, I want to do this at a reasonable cost (i.e., avoid a change to the head unit, unless absolutely necessary). I know less than nothing about sound system stuff (I know about the volume control, bass adjust, that the sound comes out the speakers - that's it!), so the more basic information, the better. Basically any info on components, prices, where to buy from, what to replace, and anything else I might need to know. I really don't want to go over $1k, and less is better.

You blew your sub already? I must not play mine as much.

Go to Sound Advice. Spend the rest of the money at the track.

my .02 the system i put in is quality sound, clarity and has the balls to thump when its needed (for a convertible that is). Ive been in competition sound systems for almost ten yrs and id recommend it, plus its a stealth job so it retains stock appearance.

Contact Trey "King GTS" he knows anything and everything about a sound system that you might want to know. His old Viper had a system that put you center stage at any concert you wanted to be at. Sounds that you would not believe.

Make sure your in-dash unit has STATION SCAN and PRESET SCAN.

Believe it of not, most EOM radios have this feature, most aftermarket radios DO NOT have this feature.

Is that the feature where, when you drive somewhere, that it'll scan for the stations in the area?
