should i change the oil.................

it's been a year since last oil change. in that time i put about 1000 miles on the car. when should i change the oil again?

Atlanta? With Mobil1, I'd only be changing it once a year if I lived there and drove it 1K miles a year. I wouldn't go over a year though.

On a drive to Indy I could have my oil well warmed.
There's so much more to Viper nation than I imagined.
I belonged to the BMWCCA for many years and we never changed oil.
Someday let's think about subsets of owners based not on region but on interests: by profession; m/c ownership; sports interests; marital status; mechanical aptitude; etc. There's no end to the potential opportunities offered to the Viper Nation Fraternity.
(BTW, any Lambda Chi's out there?)

Vinny2 - I live a mile away from Chastain Park. If you need help changing oil, let me know. It's pretty easy, and can be done in about 15 minutes.

We'll call it a party, just to make the IN/KY region jealous. Pete - Can you put it into the official GA region minutes ?

Vinny, you've just unknowingly opened Pandora's box with your "...how often" question. I'm basically in the same mode as you, although I drive my car about 2000 miles per year, all between April and October. Since your in Atlanta, you probably drive your 1000 miles throughout all 12 months. Using Mobil 1, changing it once per year is fine, but don't go any longer, to be safe. Other than that, be sure you drive at least 15-20 miles per trip to be sure to get the oil hot enough to burn off any moisture that may collect. At that rate, your car will out live all of us.
