Side sill damage - repair or replace?

Should be okay to repair. Heat shouldn't have an effect one way or the other on a repair done right.

My opinion, have them replaced. The dealer should take care of the replacement and paint cost. Personally, I would not risk a faulty repair job with regard to the side sills (although I do not know how significant the damage is). Additionally, (according to my tech) the newer side sills come equipped with better heat shields than the earlier years (thereby reducing the risk of yellowing). Go for the replacement, you'll be happier with the end result.

I would also go for the replacement. Why fix it. although the dealer will fight you on this one. My dealer once told me that is anything ever happened, I would be responsible through my own insurance!
Fight them back for the replacement, unless you know and trust them personally.
