Sill plates

Well, I just found a crack in my right side door sill cover
(the one with the heat warning decal). It appears that not
only is it expensive to buy, but it seems that it's glued
on to the body work.
Anybody have any experience in repairing/replacing this
piece ?

CAAP calls this part the "Hockey Stick" for obvious reasons.
