I had my soft-top replaced under factory warranty - it had a small hole (appears to have been worn in by the bolt heads that come exposed when those d*mned plastic caps don't stay in place) and the rear latches went bad - one place didn't want to replace it but the next one did.

i caused a small hole in mine taking it off; hit it on garge door rails. i used an upholstery repair kit to fix it. this happened in spring 2000 and its still as good as new, you can barely see the repair. I shouldve just got a new top but i was lazy and havent decided to spend the cash yet as the top is practically never on anyway.

I just had them replace my soft top under warranty..

1996-2001 brand new RT-10 soft top instructions:

Very important DC does not sell the soft top material!! you must buy a complete new top @ $2,680+ tax!!!

Very carefully take the top off the viper..Then very carefully follow the DC instructions and put it in the factory bag. you must use those stupid little covers to protect the knife like rear latches. (great design!!)

Then follow the DC instructions putting the oversized top in the small viper trunk.

By carefully following all of the DC instructions you will GUARANTEE that the soft top WILL GET DAMAGED!!!

If you ever drive your viper the top rubs against all of the unproteted hardware in a viper trunk!!!! This causes hole to be rubbed in the cover and then in the TOP!!!

Deinately not a design flaw!

DC does not put any kind of trunk mat in a viper! They just keep replacing the $2600 tops under warranty... PURE GENIUS !!

My top had two holes in it from the dealer folding it up and placing in the trunk, coincidentally they were precisely in line with the forked tongue thingys...they had an upholstery shop fix it...looked terrible...but shortly thereafter, when one of the two screws that you have to turn in to hold the top open "mysteriously stripped", they replaced the entire top under warranty...I recommend you use a small terry cloth towel when tightening these screws so as not to scar the plastic covers...the dealers should just leave the tops in the boxes they come in...Unless ya know what you are doing, you probably shouldn't be doin it!

Same problem here, wear through where hinge rivets are. My dealer said trim item, therefore not covered. Were these replacements dealer courtesy or true warranty?
