My 2000 ACR was in an accident recently. It needs a new hood, grill and body panels. I think these guys will do a good repair job. But I wanted to make sure that the parts are OEM Viper parts from Chrysler. Can someone tell me if there are any other sources other than the factory to get a hood and body panels for the Viper. You never can be to sure. We all know how people will do a lot of weird things to make and save money. If it means saving money on parts and charging the price of an OEM part well I am sure it has been done one or twice before. Can someone please let me know about this

Thanks

Have you considered carbon fiber replacements, SVSi has many carbon fiber body parts that you are going to be replacing...I am sure other companies offer carbon fiber body parts as well, SVSi just came to mind first...Can't think of a better time to upgrade, and what a bonus that your insurance company will be picking up alot of the tab!

I'd go with all OEM parts (they can be bought without ordering through a dealer) I don't think that down the road you'd be happy with non-OEM parts. I am speaking in terms of re-sale value. Who here would buy say a hemi cuda if it had fiberglass panels?? If you want weightsaving carbon fibre body panels, just buy them after the car gets repaired woth OEM parts, esp if the insurance company is paying for it. How bad is it damaged? Did the frame get smacked and bent out of shape? Just things to consider, you might be able to get a whole new car without a salvage title.

Do a search for JonB on the board.

I was told that the car has frame damage and should be writtgen off. can someone tell me what their feelings are on deciding to fix it anyway. They say that the air conditioning unit is also gone. i am not in to good a mood. That was my baby and now it might be gone.

I'll buy it off you for $150.78 (all I have today!) You can rest assured it will have a very long life with me...

As for fixing it if you get a good deal from the Insurance company you can probably come close to repairing it cheaper than buying new. But not by a whole lot. If the frame is bent and you don't like headaches I would definitely suggest calling it a loss and moving on to newer things. Remember that a salvage car is never going to be finically near ANYTHING new. If you're looking for it to be worth something in a few years the Salv title will destroy that dream.
