Have 00 GTS, rear O2 sims, no cats, intake, catback. I baby the car most always but yesterday was playing around and did the following:

1) Hard deceleration. Probably from 100 mph or so to about 10 mph.

2) Immediate hard acceleration up to about 50 mph. On this acceleration, I noticed gray/black smoke excessively out rear view mirror. Almost like burning oil.

Anyone know what would cause this?

After about 30 sec. it seemed to clear up totally and has been fine ever since. Dont think I could have hurt anything. ?????

It's an age-old Gen2 problem - High speed run then stand on the brakes = smoke. The reason? The valve covers load up with oil at high rpm. The oil is pulled forward to the breather *******, through the plumbing, into the air box, around the corner behind the left filter, into the throttle body, back into the engine's combustion chambers where it is burned.

An aggravating, but not terribly serious problem.

You might have "puked" oil into your air box...then ingested it via throttle bodies...check for oil in air box and on throttle plates (and clean them)...there is a "puke can " marketed by a vendor that will cure this if you plan more of same or track time. Suspect no harm at this point.

Sean Roe supposedly has a fix, which I had done to my car recently after an oil puke incident at RoadAtlanta. I'll tell ya'll how it works at VIR this weekend.
