tomer,
The switch is indeed a working switch, and I have mine controlling my garage door opener as per the link supplied by Tony (vipermad). Remember, if you use the switch to control a trunk opening, you will need to run a 12V source to the trunk release and incorporate the switch into the circuit, similiar to the illustrated instruction listed above.
Sounds good, as it now takes both hands to open the trunk.

tomer,
Something else, you can tell by activiting the switch now, that it is not a 'momentary' switch. You must rock the swirch forward (to close the contact), and rock it back to release. This you will need to do with the trunk as I have to do with my garage opener; no problem.

Don, I think the idea about the garage door opener is a better one!!! I think I will tackle this job....

From the illustrated instruction, it says to lift the back of the center console...I don't follow this. If you use the car's orientation, does this mean the front of the center console, where the center console (aka armrest/tranny cover) meets the control panel bezel?? The front or leading edge of my center console is actually tucked under the panels under the dash, so I don't think it will just lift up??? I know, sometimes I make a big deal of small things....

thanks

I have the Snake-Oyl electric trunk release installed on my 98 GTS. It was a quick install and I use it all the time.

Oh and for the strictly performance minded, I gained 0.05 in the quarter!

I have the Snake Oyl truck release also. Works great. I mounted the switch above the left foot well so I can reach under the dash to open the trunk.

I know this sounds wimpy, but has anyone actually installed this system from Snake Oyl? After I install my trunk lid strut, if I had a trunk release from inside the car, my morning work parking lot antics would be severely reduced...

Also, does anyone know if the dummy switch beside the fog light switch is an actual electical switch, or just a plastic dummy? Perhaps that could be used for the remote switch for trunk release?
