So I know the tranny's in our cars are notchy, but this one seems rediculous

I recently just bought a fully built DLM car (and yes, pics, dyno graphs, track #'s, etc. are soon to come...LOVE this car!!!), and it's the 6th viper I've owned. The first two vipers were the typical notchy, but not too bad. The 3rd was an RSI de-modded car and it was a pos. Had the tranny replaced under warranty and it still was so notchy you couldn't barely shift gears(it did have an aftermarket clutch), even w/the new tranny. The 4th viper was a one owner w/30k miles on it and I went 11.7@121 in a bone stock car w/that one. Shifted almost as smoothly as my C5 vette which you could bang away! And my 5th viper was almost as good. It was a lightly modded car and you could shift reasonably fast. Now, I've got this DLM car and it drives and rides unbelievably awesome! But for the LIFE of me, there is NO way to shift this car in a decent manner. You have to completely push the clutch in, slowly shift to the next gear w/clutch 100% in, and then let off the clutch. It's miserable! Granted, nothing on the street around here has a chance w/me even granny shifting, but still, I want to run some decent times at the track and it's embarrasing when people think you can't drive because you shift so slow. I believe Doug said he initially put a spec III+ clutch in it. What are some things I can do to smooth out the tranny shifts. I'll do ANYTHING!!! I was thinking clutch fluid. Maybe a different clutch. I was told tonight that a buddy of mine had an vette and it was having the same trouble and he put a different lighter clutch in it and it made all the difference in the world. Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks--Andy

Yah, a lighter clutch would help. You don't want to use a clutch that uses rollers to add spring pressure as they have seem to bind under rpm with all the extra pressure.
