So, I picked up a set of factory logo mats, put in the clip on drivers side and ..... know what, first time I drove,:drive: the mat scrunched (bunched) up under the brake pedal.

Now, no matter how many times I re-attach the mat to the clip, it still does the same thing.:omg:

Is this common with these mats and, if so, is there anything that can be done? I took the mat out to try to straighten it out, but that isn't working well.:nono:

What to do? Didn't want to get another set of mats!:crazy2:

Thanks.

Mine did the same thing. I stopped it by loosening the bolts that hold the seat down and putting the back end of the mat under the seat mounts and retightening the bolts. It hasn't moved since. Works great. The only drawback is that if you want to remove the mat you have to loosen the bolts, although I haven't taken mine out since.

maybe that is what I should do, drive without them and only use them if the car is being shown (though not in my plans).

Maybe I can iron them flat using spray starch or just glue them to the floor!!!!:omg::crazy2::omg::crazy2:

I have a BRILLIANT idea!

Take some thin metal aluminum strip. Say like maybe 1" wide x 1/8" thick. Drill a hole in one end that will fit under the seat mounting rail through the bolt. Bend it and form it to follow the contour of the floor pan, and have it stop where the back of the floor mat should go. On that end, fabricate the end into kind of a hook of sorts, on both sides. For the floor mats, use a tarp type grommet to make a clean hole and then hook them over (or under, depending on whether the hook is up or down) the hooks. You can probably get the grommet kits at Academy. Paint the strips black to blend in with the carpet.

Had you done a search, you'd find a dozen posts about the OE mats. Some folks put a nylon tie through them and secure them to the seat. Most buy replacement mats that look much better and are far thicker so they never "scrunch" up.
