I have a problem with my speedometer after having an aftermarket transmission put in by a tuner who at this time must remain nameless until after I am finished with my lawsuit. Anyway, the original harness that has the reverse lockout, skip-shift, backup lights and speed sensor was modified and had some diodes added in to facilitate the backup lights with the aftermarket transmission. Anyway, the diode got fried and then my speedometer did not work at all except for the odometer would click off 5 or 6 tenths of a mile after being driven 8-10 miles when the car was cool and being driven very easy. I had someone check all the wires in both directions which all seem to be functioning properly. I replaced the harness with a new one and found that the odometer now works in the marginal capacity which I described above for longer and sometimes the speedometer will work just fine for 5 miles or more at a time on the highway (cruising in 6th gear has the highest occurence of the speedo kicking on) Also accelerating or decelerating on uneven surfaces will cause the speedo to kick on for a split second. Does anybody here have any suggestions? Paolo
