I've not dyno'd my car, so I don't really have a feel for the "sweet spots" along the RPM range. Just from driving, it the powerband seems pretty wide, but I haven't really driven it long or hard enough to nail this down.

Ay information out there on torque and horsepower curves for stock SRT-10s?

Thanks

Kai

Snakeye:

Can't see what you posted.

Maybe it's my browser, or are other folks not seeing it either?

Rick that torque curve is suprisingly high and flat for a totally stock car - nice graph!

Thanks very much SnakeEye and Rick.

Looks like 4500 to 5000 is the magic range.

Those torque curves are waaayy flat. I guess that explains why I can accelerate pretty much at will.

Wow, that is one strong SRT-10! And the dyno graph looks strikingly similar to the numbers in my signature. Hmmmm... ;)

Now to get the computer reflashed (bog fix) and a dyno done at 5,500 miles (this one was done at 540 miles on the odometer). Should be pretty interesting!

Chris great results. On e question though. That is how is the engine speed shown going well beyond fuel shut-off speed?

I don't expect an increase in power with the bog fix. I thought that was only a part throttle solution.

Anxiously await your next results. It will still be a long time before the garage doors open again this year. Brrr.

-Yeah I liked that graph, I saw it as a Vette owner when someone posted it on the Z06vette.com boards. It was then I decided to get the generation 3 Viper, and to get rid of the Z06. Those are some nice numbers stock, I havent dyno'd mine as of yet, but from what I seen they are in the 430-480rwhp range.

Mine shuts down at 6250 RPM's and always has since Day 1. Is that not correct? I am pretty sure it was the same on my GTS too. As to the hoped-for bump from the reflash, I am just going by all the folks that have had it done and claim a "noticeable" increase in seat-of-the-pants power. Assuming it isn't all wishful thinking, I am hoping a little of it shows up on the dyno.

Our snow is melting here (57º projected for Wednesday and Thursday), but the roads are still pretty sloppy. My Denali looks like a moving pitcher's mound - only a helluva lot bigger! It needs a bath but with the roads still a mess there is no point. Thus the SRT will sit in the garage for a little while longer before I get a reflash and another dyno run in...

That is interesting Chris. Mine clearly hits fuel shut-off at 6050 rpm. Well less than Gen I/II that were 6250, as you indicated. I wonder if this was a change during production. Mine was built in January 2003. Yours?

Completed on November 8th, 2002 at 3:00 PM. A Friday car towards quitting time. No wonder they missed that watery reverse light! ;)

Now I wonder if the reflash for the bog will change my shut off to 6050? Hmmm...

Chris,

Now why would this joker from Atlanta steal your dyno sheet as his own? Maybe someone should check the validity of his VCA membership.

Listen Rick, the dynograph and link provided was simply for the purpose of assisting Kai SRT10 with his/her question regarding torque and horsepower curves for a stock SRT-10. Nobody ever suggested, or meant to suggest, that the dynograph was actually from my '04 Viper. Sorry for your confusion but that hardly justifies your smack talk or needless hijacking of this thread. Cheers.

Somehow, MC Racing, Overland Park, KANSAS got removed from the first dyno. How did that happen?

SnakeEye,

You've been around here long enough to know that you don't use other people's stuff without proper attribution, and you certainly don't modify/desecrate other peoples stuff without their permission.

Use better judgement next time.

Frank ... I would have no way of knowing how (or why, for that matter) ‘MC Racing inc. Overland Park Ks. (913) 789-9888’ was removed from the reposted dynograph. This is not something that I would do, rest assured. The dynograph/link was something that was captured from another site sometime ago so there's really no telling what happened. I think what’s most important here is that Kia seemed pleased to receive the posted information and no one got hurt.

All’s well that ends well. :2tu:

I am very happy and grateful that folks took the time to find and post these graphs for me.

This post was about me asking for information and people being nice enough to provide it. It wasn't a bragging thread. I didn't assume that any of these graphs were proprietary. I just wanted power curves for a stock SRT-10.

Thanks to those who were nice enough to post.

Why don't we all move on to another topic.

Kai
