DETROIT -- DaimlerChrysler AG's beast of a concept vehicle looks like a motorcycle, sounds like a muscle car and packs a 500-horsepower, V-10 engine that would give it a top speed above 300 miles an hour.

Nobody has yet tried to make the four-wheel, single-passenger Dodge Tomahawk go that fast. But Chrysler Group's president and chief executive Dieter Zetsche says the company might bring the gleaming engine on wheels into production one day for a limited run - if there's enough interest.

"It's about pure performance, in-the-face excitement and not being scared of any limits," Zetsche said after helping introduce the Tomahawk at the North American International Auto Show.

I have three things to say.

1) Does ANYONE check the forum before they make a new post? This is the FOURTH post on this!!! Jheesh!

2) I would die for this bike. Then I would die on it. But it would be a glorious way to go out!

3) There is no doubt in my mind that Wolfgang can't ride for shiaht!

Hi Mike,

Good points!

Most interesting to me is that Wolfgang thinks Le Mans is to dangerous to participate, yet he introduces the Tomahawk.

What is wrong with this picture?

I never knew he said that about LeMans!!!

I just think it's funny to see him in the leathers perched atop that motorcycle. He just looks so out of place. I wonder if they futzed with the throttle bodies so it can't get more than 1/100th throttle for the purposes of his ride out?

Or maybe that's a fake exterior and there is a moped engine buried in there?

They should have let me ride that **** out. I'd ride a standup through the plastic banner they put up and stoppie to a halt at the end of the runway.. then I'd get off and say "**** it down!" and bash some onlookers with my helmet.

Now THAT is the kind of introduction this bike needs!

Maurice Liang is at the show and called me when Wolfgang introduced the Tomahawk. It is real per Maurice.

If it is built it will be the "King of the Bike Hill". I suspect Wolfgang can also give the Tomahawk a good ride.

Regarding Le Mans - At VOI7 on the bus to the Crazy Horse Saloon Kelly(my wife) and I sat behind Wolfgang. He was talking to a guy across isle on the bus. When there was an opening I ask "When we were going back to Le Mans" He quickly said "Never, it was to dangerous and that someone one was killed there 4 months ago" Like NASCAR is without risk? But for Wolfgang Le Mans is special as he was in charge of AMG best known in 1999 at Le Mans for the "Flying Mercedes" And in 1998 the Oreca Chrysler Vipers finished ahead of the LMP Mercedes. All AMG Mercedes LMP engines died within the first 4 hours of the race, while the Viper finished 1 and 2 in class. Is it possible personal bias has anything to do with the disconnect with ORECA and Viper Road Racing? Until Wolfgang's comment I though the story that DC was focusing on NASCAR was a possible reason to stop funding of Le Mans but now I feel there may be other issues.

Le Mans and the ALMS were great sporting events. I would rather see one ORECA race Vipers at Le Mans, Laguna Seca, Sears Point, etc than every NASCAR race. NASCAR, to me, is BOOOOring.
