I cannot seem to get horn to work since i installed the Momo steering wheel. Ive been told by dealer that horn will not work without clockspring intact which does not sound right.

anyone else yet figure out this dilema for their steering wheel swap? I know several have taken the Momo plunge so speak up, dammit speak up, LOL

my other solution; Im thinking about 3M mounting an airhorn to the drivers side mirror, brushed satin finish of course, LOL

Little help here

Need to look into how the Gen1 cars got around this issue since they had that style of steering wheel from the factory.

The Gen1 column was like the old Ramcharger column and used a much different type of device than the clockspring. Ground (earth) was applied at the bottom side of a plastic ring with a metal inlay. On the top of the ring was a metal pin that rode on the inlay with the aid of a spring to hold tension on the pin. A wire from that pin went to the horn switch and at the other side of the switch was a ground wire that grounded through the column shaft. I'm taking this from memory and I haven't worked on one of those columns in quite a few years. Anyway, the ground was applied to the relay I believe and that activated the horn.
