I think stepped headers can make a flatter torque curve if engineered for your specific application. The question is will the headers you buy match your setup perfectly? Also, do Vipers need a flatter torque curve? I would think that traction will be more of a concern on the bottom end. This guy has been building headers for years and has some interesting thoughts. I doubt he builds Viper headers though.. http://www.headersbyed.com/stepped.htm my .02

I have TNT stepped headers. My intention was to eventually really beef up the motor maybe stroker, s/c etc. I was told by TNT that on their King snake the stepped headers made 20-30 more rwhp than the non-stepped. However, without the big mods you wiil gain more power without the stepped headers.

I have a 99 ACR with 70mm throttle bodies, light flywheel and pully, TNT stepped headers, high flow cats and 3" exhaust, HMS carbon air box, MGW shift knob, and Brembo brakes up front.

My car with these mods made 440 rwhp.

After careful consideration and lengthy discussions with Nick at TNT, Jason Heffner, SVSi, Sean Roe, Tom Welch, and Doug Levin (thanks for all of your time and input, especially Jason) and many owners of their systems(thanks guys), I have decided to send my car to Doug Levin for a stage II+.

I believe the stepped headers should help make the power I want. I just hope I can handle it. Hope this helps.
