So if I don't want <wallet hits floor> to buy a new set of HRE's....
Is there a wheel repairer/restorer that can/will anodize a stock set of wheels? Has anyone done this or is the cost so excessive that it simply makes more sense to save for a new set?
Anyone?

city,
what would the stock wheel then look like ?
a silver type finish? sort of like the acr?
I also could not justify new wheels. So now i am considering
Baer ERADISPEED 2 piece rotars. to make the wheel area look better. And they are much cheaper than new wheels.

keep me posted
good luck

Thanks Bad Asp, but here's my idea (not like it's brilliant or anything). For those of use that can't go the HRE route ($) we simply paint the 5 spoke original wheels a color to match the car. I would leave the "bead" polished so that there would still be the hint of "chrome" around the circumference and have the spokes painted and clear coated sapphire blue. Would then likely leave the 2" hubs polished and paint the "sneaky pete" blue. Anyway, having checked with the Viper Wizard and his merry men (or is that Robin Hood???), it looks like the job could be done for about $500 (plus the cost of breaking down and remounting the tires. What do you all think? How does a painted wheel hold up on a Viper? Has anyone painted a factory wheel? Can anyone "photoshop" a set to see how they would look? Would anyone like to donate the cost difference for HREs? Alright, I just threw that one in there

I personally think it is a bad idea...as it appears that you do to...here's a thought...if your stock rims are in good condition, buy the HRE's...ebay the stock rims...you should get $1500 - $1800 for them off ebay, maybe more...big chunk toward the HRE's...

Your formula still leaves me with a "big chuck" outlay for the HRE's. Custom painted/anodozed HRE's will run $5,000?. Less $1,800 leaves me $3,200. Let's say $3,000 v. $700 ($500 + $200 breakdown/mounting/shipping). That math leaves me with too big a chunk <choke/cough>. Guess it's all realtive priorities
