Stripes on the rear. What’s the deal??

Some cars have it all the way down the back and others stop and start back up again.

*Only* the 96 GTS's had stripes through the plate area from the factory. Cost savings cut them from 97 on. I like them through the plate area. Looks complete.

Explaining Viper things to you
It's a matter of taste too. My stripes do not go through the plate area and also do not go through the NACA opening in the hood. And I like it that way. Otherwise it looks like someone stuck a license plate over your stripes, and are trying to hide the hood opening by camouflaging it with the stripe package.

I always thought that the stripes thru the licence plate F'd up the styling lines of the rear and gave it a "step/stairs" look due to the licenseplate being set back a few inches. 90degree angles: up-over-up-over-up takes away from the curves of the Viper

Especially noticed when looking from a rear quarter angle like the pic above or this:
