What is the best way to strip the red from an intake and valve covers? Chemical + wash or?

Also, what type of paint can be used that will stand up to the heat? I'm wanting as close to the blue of the stipes on my 96 white RT as possible (metal flake will be difficult?)

Finaly, do I need the whole upper gasket set to do a R&R or ??

You can strip the paint easily with regular paint remover, they
make an aerosol version in a spray can. Wear gloves, it can also
take your skin off. You can have the parts- powder coated, or
use an epoxy primer and polyurethane paint- DuPont makes a good
primer for aluminum(Corlar). The polyurethane is a little toxic,
if you need more info, e-mail me. Eastwood, also makes a paint
for this. If you spray paint with the polyurethane, you can top
coat this with clear- with pearl or flakes added.

I have an extra Intake from my 1995 RT-10. I don't know if it will fit the '96. I too had my Intake and Valve Covers painted. I bought the extra Intage and Covers from PartsRack.

Doug Levin has my original Intake right now in Florida. You can call him to see if he wants to part with it, as I told him I would sell it to him rather than have it shipped back to me...
