I would like to see some pictures of what others have done with woofers in the rear of a GTS.

Today I went and looked at some pre-made woofer boxes by JL Audio and others. WOW…..Those things are HEAVY. I would be better off carrying a passenger in the quarter mile!

So it looks like things are going to be 100+ pounds for a wood box.

Does anyone have pictures of their project with 8-10" woofers on the sides facing out? How about anyone with a fiberglass box? How much weight? How much work?

Don't bother to say "Search the archives", I am no idiot and the info is not there. I have read almost every stereo post.

Don't think that I am some young punk that wants to go boom boom boom. The Viper should be a Total Package. The factory sound system …..we'll it kind of SUX. This is amazing, six speakers and a 200 watt amp. Mainly poor speakers that caused the bad sound.

Thank You Anthony,

Yes, I have looked at those, but they did refresh my ideas.

I am still looking for a "Side" woofer installation. The one is pretty close but the speakers are facing inward.

Thanks Again

If you thought the sound in a GTS leaves a lot to be desired

, try an RT/10

. I can't believe the sonic improvement is so significant in the coupe.

Now if I can only find a way to put my VPI JR turntable into the snake...ANALOG (sound) RULES!

although purely amateur, i have very extensive experience with stereo design and installs. so naturally, i was quite disappointed with the factory setup, so i started looking into building a new stereo. although i havent done anything yet, here are my initial thoughts about the subs setup:

1. the 2 cubby wholes in the trunk of the gts are perfect for a fiberglass boxes running 8" subs or even 10s. most 8" and 10" subs require very little inclosures (like 1-2 cubic feet) so, they will fit perfectly. also, with the introduction of 500w rms 10" subs i think there will be no shortage of power

if done right, you are looking at about 80 pounds for both enclosures including the speakers- which is not bad.

now i only need to find some free time to lay some fiberglass there and mold the enclosures....

will report (with pics) on that one some time in the near future...
