I know I get lazy and don't look at the other Forums much. Am I alone?

I look at all of them. I like knowing what direction the section should offer. It allows me to "****" through areas that I would never have any interest in (such as performance upgrades).

Whoever is doing all the moving recently is doing a good job of spreading the wealth. That is how to build a following in each area.IMHO

I agree Steve that the moving of posts that is being done is absolutely the right thing to do. I'm quite guilty of posting racing stuff on the main Forum because I fear that others like me don't look at the other forums. Hopefully, they do though...

I use "View Enhanced Active Topics" on the Discusson Forum main page, so I see all active topics, in order of their last post. This works good for me - if I travel, or if I'm out of the office for some time, I can "catch up" on all posts I've missed.

I actually think they should split discussion and questions. This way people who need something answered can go to one area, and the ones who just want to talk about Viper can go to that area. It just seems that because those are the two most prevalent areas of interest that they get all the hits. By spreading them apart, you will see other get used to going into all the areas. IMHO

Hmmmm.......

We used to have it EXACTLY that way, with a section for questions only: "STUMP THE VIPER GURUS." It was very active, always on-topic, NO bickering, no wars, children, or off-topic chatter. You can still search it.

I heard it was removed because ONE specific member objected that some persons were deemed to be 'gurus' and he was offended for some reason. Truth is, ANYONE with the correct answer, or an expansion of the answer, was encouraged to reply! [One lurker with a rare problem he fixed is a GURU regarding that problem!]

The obvious proof is the post counts. I SELDOM visit any of the other areas. "Padding" their numbers by moving posts is fooling ourselves, is it not?

I look at the main section and "off-topic", that's it, do we really have enough posts to warrant so many sections?!

Re: Survey - how many of you look at the \"other\" forums besides the Viper Discussion?

The last few weeks I have been viewing the Viper discussion and Off Topic sections independently, since many of the threads I'm interested in are multi-page. Prior to this I mostly used the enhanced active topics method, but last time I checked it was not very multi-page friendly (Tony was going to fix this I believe?). I also typically check the other sections once a week to make sure I haven't missed anything or if I'm looking for specific info (like event dates) That usually doesn't take long because there are not many posts there. Keep up the great work!!!
