Tampa , Clearwater area...need advice!

Hi Guys!

I am looking at a Red 97 GTS, low miles, apparently in nice condition in the Tampa area. Price is 58K. Car is all stock and is owned by a guy named Robert, from Hurricane Motors. Apparently he has no lot, and works from his home. He buys and sells high line exotics. I live in Pa. and have not seen the car yet. I have some concerns, I hope you can help me with.

1. Car has no warranty, can I buy an extended warranty?
2. Are there any GOOD Viper techs. in this area, Dodge dealers?
3. There is white corrosion or something on the gas cap, can it be repaired?
4. Any good car carriers in the area?
5. Anybody ever heard of this guy or dealership?
6. Is the Florida area harsh with the salty air on undercarriage and such?
7. Are there any other concerns I should have?

I haven't found any good Viper Techs yet.

I'm not sure if I've heard of the guy or the dealership. I know where an exotic dealership is in Clearwater. Maybe that's it.

Salt air is, in large part, a myth. Salt doesn't evaporate into the air and the Gulf doesn't produce waves to splash onto the car. Worse than the "salt air" is the beating down of the sun.

Price seems a little high for a 97.

58k for a low mileage '97??? huh??? Am I missing something? Price seems way high... If $ is no object, grab it. If so, car seems over priced by about 10-12%

Joking aside, have you looked at the classifieds on this web site? The price looks a little high and no one knows the guy yet. Looks like you can get a better price, closer to home and very possibly from a vca member or someone that can be vouched for on this board. My advise: Keep shopping, If not then I could look at it for you the end of next week. Could probably talk, Chuck, Antonio or Gerald in to going with me but it might cost you a bucket of breasts eh, er, I mean wings.

I just bought a 97 GTS blue/white stripes, 6200 miles from a collector and car is in show room condition for $52,500.00. $58k for a red car is really high unless it has under 1,000 miles.

The 96 gts blue/white with only 380 miles and extended warantee unitil end of 2004 sold for $60,000.00.

Look on autotrader.com and viperclub classifieds. The car should sell in the low $50's depending on condition and such.

Frank may be right. There might be better deals. But if you want any of us to check it out let us know. If it's a bad deal the dealer is liable to close his door when he sees 4 or 5 Vipers pull in.

If this guy's name is Robert Jarrell, he's a car broker near Tampa area that works out of his home, RUN, repeat, RUN from the deal... Please drop me an email ASAP. He is a known "local" theif and has personally stolen 3 cars from me and owes me 10,000. I've been trying to track him down for 7 years! He moves from town to town A LOT to hide from his "clients". I think I must be 100th person in line he as stolen from. He has gotten OTHER people for 100,000's of 1,000's.....
