I have the new style Autoform roll bar (no exposed bar between the hoops) in my car and I am having problems installing my new Team Tech 6 point belts. Here is my problem - the Team Tech installation video shows removing a piece of tape from the unused predrilled holes behind each seat to install the shoulder belt eyebolts. On my car there is no tape and it appears the Autoform roll bar has been secured using these predrilled holes. There are 5 bolts behind each seat and it is difficult to tell which bolts are in the predrilled holes. If I determine which are the predrilled holes, is it ok to use the supplied Team Tech eyebolts with the Autoform roll bar? Any help from those that have installed the roll bar and belts would be appreciated. Thanks

Follow-up. I watch the installation video (in super slow motion) and figured out which holes were predrilled but I am concerned about using the supplied eyebolts. Since the thick roll bar bottom plate is being held in place using the predrilled holes, have others decided to use longer eyebolts to secure the roll bar and belts? Thanks for your help.

I assume you are talking about the two holes up high behind each seat. If so they are behind the removeable panel and easy to find beneath the sticky black tape. Do the roll bars attach there? I would have expected the roll bar to attach down low not way up there.

The other 2 holes down low were much more difficult. The inside ones on the tunnel were okay as they had a dummy screw installed. However, the outside were much more difficult trying to find the hole. I might have those two mixed up as it has been a year and a half since I installed them.

The only place for an eyebolt is the upper locations though. I would say a longer bolt should be okay. Just keep it so that the penertration is not too far. The gas tank sits down there somewhere.

Thanks. I did find the correct holes behind the panel but there is no black tape because that it where the Autoform roll bar attaches. Maybe my new style roll bar attaches differently than the older (cross bar exposed) style.

Has anyone had this situation with the newer bar and Team Tech belts? Thanks for your help.

DP,

I have the "new style" autoform roll bar and 6 point team techs in my SRT-10. The "eye" bolts install in two upper holes located behind the removable panel that were covered by some black clay-like sticky substance. Once removed, the installation is simple. If you have roll bar attachment bolts in these holes, the roll bar is not correctly installed.

I had no issues installing these two upper bolts behind the seats. The two bolts on the sides of the seats were a pain in the asp to find.

Your roll bar should not be installed using the seat belt holes. It would help if you could take a picture of the Autoform installation points you are talking about.
