because this always comes up sooner or later. Several people have done it including myself but I am a big traveler, and have been caught in several downpours. Yes, there is better flow, and proof of that is evident. Also, when you remove the air filters when in its stock form, you can so that the air moves to the outside of the filters and that is where they get dirty due to the turbulance. When you modify the airbox, it will sound like you have a blower on it. Yes, better airflow, better sound, but make sure you dont drive it in really bad weather. The way you can tell if the engine is taking in water during that time, is that the car will seem sluggish, so I would put in the clutch, gas it some to remove the water, and drive is easy until I got out of the rainstorm. It only happened twice in a year but that was due to major traveling. It is worth it, but beware of the rain.
