You'll find TeamTech's the most frequently used on Viper's. Any belt system that is SFI safety approved should be suitable. Just make sure you get lap belts that pull up to tighten. A sternum strap (built into the TeamTech's) is a good idea too.
My own test of TeamTech's consisted of an end over end with multiple rolls at over 130 mph (in the passenger seat thank you

) and they held up as expected, without a problem. The only thing I don't like so much about them is the large pad areas they have, but that's just personal preference. Once you're out on the track, you have other things to think about and don't notice it that much. Parts Rack and other vendors here carry them. I have Schroth belts in my personal car.

I may get banned from Viperland for this, but I don't care for TeamTech because of the sternum strap. It is cumbersome and overkill (for lack of a better word) in my opinion.

I’m on my second set of Simpsons.

Sean has many years of racing experience. If he says SFI approval is good then that's good for me.

Chuck - no banning - but potentially losing your "keeper" status...

The sternum strap is a VERY IMPORTANT part of the harness system. During massive decelleration that you might see in a wreck, most other harnesses can allow your upper body / chest to hyperextend THROUGH the shoulder straps. Normally, you would think that the body would wrap around the outside of the straps like a taco, but in fact, the chest comes out through the middle of the straps (since there is nothing keeping them together) and can cause broken ribs / sternum. That's the reason for the strap. Personally, I feel more comfortable with a larger surface area against my chest in the event of a wreck - in order to spread the g-forces over a larger area and keep me more planted in the seat. This should be especially important for guys, as you usually have a higher center of gravity.

I don't believe I have ever heard of a person taking out their TeamTechs for another brand. And they are the supplier of choice for the new Competition Coupe.

They'll also supply Viper specific hardware so that you can maintain the movement of the stock seatbelt retainer clip (you know - so it'll slide down to the side of the seat and not try to insert itself in an uncomfortable place when you enter the vehicle...

I certainly don’t want to loose my “keeper” status with Janni. So I will let the other comedians make the obvious innuendoes regarding tacos, large surface areas and high vs low centers of gravity.

Love ya Babe.

TEAM TECH HAS plain vanilla harnesses FROM $89 / 5-pt harness! SFI spec, much better than OEM belts alone in autocross/novice track-tivity.

PartsRack and Team Tech have worked closely with Viper Days and NC-VCA to ensure that the pads offered to a 5'8" 160 lb driver are NOT the same pads offered to a 6'3" 250 pounder. And your OE belts stay fully functional.

Chuck, we will RE-DESIGN your existing pads within your approved size range to make them smaller - Low cost. [Maybe no cost if you gottem from me.]

TeamTech is a "SYSTEM" that offers custom padding, choice of adjustments { as Sean sez, "pull up" lap belts are great in a Viper!} 6-pt accessory, 7 color choices, release and tightener tabs in contrasting/complimentary colors, and satin or black hardware.

Our current FREE ACR-GT2 warranty replacement special gives you a choice of free 6-pt upgrade, neck collar, arm restraints, or helmet bag! And you KEEP your original belts.

Get 2003 Comp-Coupe technology in your 92-02. Tommy Archer told me they flat-out saved his life in an OEM ACR Viper rollover. at 150 mph, you MUST HAVE the pads, and some neck protection.

[ Special Thanks to Sean Roe for the testimonal and referral.]

According to Janni, I'm a heretic and blasphemer because I'm on my second set of Snake Oyl belts and like them fine. One thing to consider is that if you don't like belts you install the first time you will have ample opportunity to swap - you'll be replacing them every two years if you're running Viper Days.
