The Post On My RT10 Where The Soft Top Attaches Is Damaged. Has anyone repaired that?

It looks like a previous owner had trouble and the top blew off. So there is some damage to the rail above the windshield where the pin from the top is inserted. Has anyone repaired this problem in the past? How do you go about fixing it? I can still work with it the way it is, but looking for a solution. I e-mailed Jon B about it, said to replace the windsheild frame (used)is probably $3000. Plus the manual says that it is very difficult to remove the windshield without damaging it. So that would involve a new windshield as well.

I have heard stories about tops blowing off at high speeds. So if anyone has worked through this, I would be very interested in hearing from you.
