As many of you may recall, Whiteman Air Force Base has again asked several car clubs to join them for the Wings Over Whiteman Air Show this weekend in Knob Noster, Missouri. Participants will parade in front of the military brass for inspection and then "stand at attention" for the National Anthem while parked by the B-2 Stealth Bombers stationed at Whiteman. Then we head to the tarmac and park next to the jets for the air show itself.
But here is the kicker: The Air Force just sent me the confirmed number of vehicles for each of the clubs invited this year (all had to pre-register for security clearance purposes). The numbers? Drum roll please...

Yep, thirty-seven - how about THAT! The one model that probably has the least amount of cars produced (the Cobra club is almost all reproduction/kit cars) has the highest number of participants - by a WIDE margin. I think that says a lot about the owners and the car itself. Truly an awesome display of civilian American muscle matched up with American military muscle. The Vipers definitely look good next to our air warriors!
We look forward to having our friends from Gateway, MidSouth, and Texas Regions join us this weekend. Fingers crossed for good weather!
