Tire question ---17 vs 18 vs 19

I have started looking around at tires and see how much cheaper the 18 inch tires are compared to the 17 inch tires my '98 takes. With the 18's being at least $500.00 a set cheaper I was considering buying the larger rims and after 5-6 sets of tires the savings would have paid for the rims.

Since the new Vipers have 19's on them are the prices on the 18's probably going to start going up and the 19's down? I would prefer my speedo to be wrong and it will if I go to 19's.

Has anybody come across any deals on 17's lately?

There is an over supply of 18's Mich. Viper tires, that is why the price is down.

Kumhos are $700 a set in 17" if your interested.

Is the only question price? 17" Kumkos cost per mile is pretty high. Grins per mile VERY high......

Ride - handling - braking - other MAJOR performance parameters - endurance.
And then there is appearance! Blingity Bling Bling......

Wheels and tires 17" from $2200 used
Wheel and tires 18" from $3200 new
Wheels and tires 19" from $5600 new

Most guys love the kumho's for AutoX and such because they are a soft sticky tire, but street use has it's drawbacks as they pickup rocks and pummel your paintjob.

And they last about 7,500 miles at best!
