I'm no expert but I would wrap them in saran wrap or a large plastic bag. They will dry out and harden over time and that's a bad thing.

Long Term Storage...ie 1+ years or especially longer

Eliminate affects of OZONE by:

-Coat em outside w/ silicone sealer....the shiny stuff.
-Some tire dressings contain UV protectant. Better still
-Store in opaque black plastic bags. Thin bags? Double-bag.
-evacuate as much air from the bag as possible. ShopVac?
-Fold neck of bag over and Duct tape bag closed.
-Store on treaded surface if possible, not laid flat.
-Cool-dry storage as possible. Heat is bad. Cool is good.

Be careful when driving away on siliconed gooey tires !

JonB usually knows his sh*t, but I heard the same thing. Always store them flat and never stack tires. Of course, we probably heard wrong.... ANY OTHER EXPERTS OUT THERE?
