Give me a few hours and I'll go get MY BOOK (how is it that
all our books are some where else)
Generally speaking - you start from the center and tight the
bolts in a spiral circle in increments of 20 lb . - I'll be
back in a minute with my book.

Ok got my book, I'll have to put words to the illustrated
picture.
So, if your looking at the left cylinder head from the left side
of the motor, and you number the bolts starting from the front
and beginning with the exhaust side 1-6 , and starting from
the front of the intake side 7-12.
Sequence is 3,9,4,10,5,11,2,8,1,7,6,12.
1. Tighten in stepped torque - first 30lb, then 1/4th turn
2. Tighten valley bolts next to 95in lb , in sequence -
if you number the bolts from front to back 1,2,3,4,5,6
the sequence is 3,4,5,2,1,6
3. Install push rods, rocker arm and pedestal assemblies into
position, tighten to 30ft lb
4. tighten valve cover bolts to 95in lb.
Hope this helps

If you're using new factory cylinder head bolts, DO NOT OIL
(they have a special coating)
If you're using old bolts or anything other than factory,
you'll need to oil the bolts and the bolt heads to get
the correct torque. *
*exception - if any bolt goes through an oil or water port - you
might want to apply a suitable sealer to the threads instead of
oil.
