Touch Up side sills?

What is the best method of touching up small paint chips on the Gen 1 sidesills flat black portion? Dodge wants $500 and says you have to paint both. They also don't offer any flat black touch up paint.

Seems to me if they painted with it they should offer it.

Several weeks ago, I managed to run my right side pipe into a brick wall. Guess what came out second best????

Only the black portion was damaged. I took it to my local Dodge dealer who, as in your case, indicated that both colors had to be painted in addition to the sheetmetal damage repair. Moreover, there were 3 clear antichip appliques which had to be replaced too. These alone listed at $100.

The bottom line is that the entire job (including sheetmetal repair, painting both colors, and appliques) cost $400.

The job turned out great.

You might do well to get another estimate or come to Alabama!
