Hello guys
I wanted to ask about what should I be aware when tracking a gen v viper any common issues out there ?
Also I am switching from amg gtr to viper ta 2.0 I was hoping for the track consumables to be cheaper like brake pads , tire wear and maintenance and was hoping someone can confirm from their experience in using the viper on race tracks

Kudos to you for tracking a car that was designed and built to be tracked. Other than fresh brake fluid, pre-post event pad/rotor inspection, a racing harness and helmet for you, there isn't much that these cars need. Tires, pads and rotors are consumables. Iron rotors are far less expensive than carbon composite.

I would also suggest that you use Mobil1 15W-50 and start with a regular post-track oil sampling regimen for your engine. Get a suction hose sampling kit that will draw about 100ml from your hot engine thru the dipstick tube. Change intervals should be guided by the results. You could also consider trans and diff sampling, but just changing those fluids out every 12-18 months is reasonable.

I don't have any experience with a gen 5 on the track, but I think they are pretty well sorted from the factory as far as I'm aware. As for the "running costs", generally speaking I think the Viper is pretty good. Tires are going to be the worst of it and will vary a lot based on your driving style, preferences, and the tracks you want to run on. Brakes are fairly reasonable and like GTS Dean said, most will keep iron rotors on the car for the reduced cost and easier serviceability. Otherwise the suspension is really well built and I've never had any issues with bushings or bearings or anything in the 135,000+ miles I've put on my car. I've only run maybe 10 track weekends (one a year), but I don't go easy on the car when it is on the track and try my hardest to keep up with cars much better equipped than me, lol.

Generally speaking just keep the fluids, tires, and brakes fresh and go have fun with it. Pay attention if the car is telling you something funny and look into it before it turns into something worse.
