I read past post that the Sloan Kwik Load won't be wide enough. Has anyone started building one that will be wide enough? How wide does it need to be?

A current Sloans will not work!

PartsRack has discussed this dilemma with "99 West" a manufacurer /dealer in Oregon. I gave them the dimesions on the press release, and they have some concerns!

The deck width necessary will be VERY difficult to adapt an existing platform...and will probably make the neccesary withd the 'maximum legal width' of any trailer. Sme states are 8.0 fet max. Some kind of "Deck-Over-Wheels" might be needed, causing a "how-to-load" challenge as well.

Stay tuned!

Well, for now I'm not going to worry about the trailer issue. Here's my story:

When I first saw the listed specs at release..... I suffered immediate panic. This new 03 was definitely not going to even fit inside my enclosed "wide body" Pace. I just couldn't believe Dodge would be building us a car so wide it would not fit between the wells of the widest legal trailers. So..... I called up "a friend" with DC. I was told...."relax, it's only a tad bit wider, and that's basically due to the tire profile change.... it will still fit inside your existing rig".

I will accept that as the truth until I actually see it not fit orhear differently from someone with more credibility than my source (and that's not going to be very likely).
