Got a nail in one of the rears on friday, have been thoroughly screwed around all weekend by a tire/wheel company that said they could do it Saturday, then they could do it Sunday and now just found out they don't have anyone they would "trust" to do it today! And their guy they do trust is going on vacation tommorow! Anybody know where I could get this done tommorow? Would I be better at a dealer? Tate and Antwerpen are close. This place had a strong reputation going for it, the owner is even a Viper owner and member of the local VCA, they just seem to have trouble scheduling! Do the dealers stock the rear tire? A few calls to independent tire dealers told me this tire ain't gonna arrive quick. I should mention the tire IS repairable, it's a clean nail puncture down in the tread in the middle of the tire, I'm already nervous about taking off for VOI on a patched tire! I'm thinking of trailering if I could find a trailer to rent, I own a good tow vehicle. Any help or advice appreciated. I feel VOI slipping away here! I'm in the Annapolis area (Severna Park) and the car is driveable, tire is losing a couple pounds as it sits every day.

Lee,
If the tire is patched AND plugged, you should be in good shape. The amount of high speed driving at VOI is limited. It is highly doubtful that you will find a tire locally, although I know TireRack has a location close to you that may allow it to be shipped Monday for Tuesday AM delivery. TireRack also has a list of authorized installers - my guess is that they are a good place to start to find a person that can handle a Viper rim without damaging it. Check out their website...

Have no fear, you'll be at VOI in no time!

Lee - Mr. Tire (AKA Joe Tomarchio) is a member of our local club. His contact info is in our member list. Call him, and he will help you! At a recent meeting, he gave each member in attendance a "friend of Joe" card.

They have certain Mr Tire dealerships with the newer hunter machinery. He will tee them up to expect you. I just had a tire patched there the other day at the Rockville store on Rt 355, which has the latest ballancer. Not all machines can fit a viper rear wheel.

Lee,
As Andy says, Joe Tomarchio of Mr. Tire is the Man!
He set up my left rear replacement at Mr. Tire in
Ellicott City on Rt 40 west, they had the tire, correct
equipment, and experienced people, in and out in very little
time. Plus offered road haz ins on all four tires, including
the factory originals, for excellent price.
