my friend Phil has just removed his VEC2 to send off for the upgrade, he took some readings off the throttle position sensor, all the figures quoted are in Ohms

VEC2 connected
ignition off 0.001
ignition on 5.8
car running 23.8

VEC2 removed
ignition off 0.000
ignition on 0.058
car running 0.125

is the 23.8 figure normal ?

Neil - how were the measurements taken? If done with an Ohm meter they will not be correct as the meter is designed with the assumption that it will be supplying all the current in the circuit... with the power on that is not true. Also, with the TPS connected to the VEC, eddy currents will make the readings suspect even with the power off.

It is possible to measure resistances in-circuit, but it can be quite complicated.

Well said - my thoughts exactly

Normally a voltage reading is take off the TPS - at different throttle positions
with the ignition on.
An ohm reading is generally used to test an isolated sensor with ignition off.
