So does that mean the "feels more like 50hp" was hype?

And when it felt more like 50hp on that ride home were you going faster than 70mph?

Is it ok to beat a live horse. The dead ones start to stink after a while.

Re: VIPAIR™ Dyno Results on 99 RT 16 RWHP!!

Wasn't it Edmonton who said that?

I thought he was one of the Vipair inventor/producers.

Wasn't he the guy who first posted the news that the Vipair was available and what it would do for a Viper?

Here's what he said.

"the best part was the drive home as the car felt like it had picked up an extra 50 RWHP, all the extra cold air was doing its job.
The Vipair comes with a full money back Guarantee " if you buy one and you don't like or don't feel the difference you will get your money back in full"
To order you can email me or PM your order"

I thought he was speaking for the Vipair in some sort of official capacity.

Joe,

The Vipair™ routes the "colder than under hood air" from outside, which is ambient temp air, as the vipair is not a cooling device it simply prevents the underhood hotter air from getting into the airbox. This outside air is cooler than the underhood air joe. Even you cannot dipute this. And if you can I would like to see your test results! Oh, and by the way the engine must be on before you test!

Joe isn't it time for you to remove this anti Vipair chip from your shoulder? You seem like you are much too intelligent to be making most of the posts you make in this thread.

Didn't someone about a zillion messages back do a temperature test that showed the stock set up showed no delta in ambient versus intake air temperature?

Re: VIPAIR™ Dyno Results on 99 RT 16 RWHP!!

It appears to me that with a better radiator (such as fluidyne) it would enhance the vipair.

It basicly combines gen 1 and gen 2's air induction,it must make SOME HP its sending more air into the intake air = power.

I feel very confident in this product in fact im going to be getting one with in 2 weeks or so, it would go against the laws of physics if it dident work.

I dyno'd my car a few weeks back (I posted them in a thread called "how are these for dyno numbers" in case anyone thinks im tryin to make myself right, however I did add 70mm TB's and smoothies since then, so i will re dyno. get the new numbers then install the vipair then dyno again (its a friends shop so i dont have to pay for it thank god), being an air induction system such as it is, it would seem to me that on a dyno you would see very little gain if any, but driving with the outside wind it would seem you would pick up hp,this is why im sure when you guys dyno'd it you came up with not very much.

Besides Scott at elite uses this system and says it works and I don't think any of us have ANY reason to discredit Scott or his work (which speaks volumes)so thats good enough for me to give it a shot and i will let you all know what i come up with.

Wait, if I add the Vipair and get too much POWER; then add the tornado fuel saver and get too many MPG, I will have the automotive equivalent of a perpetual motion machine.
Boy will the tuners and gas companies be down on my case!
I just don't have the guts to do it. It would take the fun out of motoring.

Ah ha! Add in the J.C. Whitney magnetic fuel atomizer, and you may be on to something! The VipAdoAtomizer! I hate being so smart sometimes......

Stugots,
You can't always depend on physics to operate the way you think it might. The laws of fluids in motion do not always work in the way that would seem obvious.

Scooping up air and sending it to the intake would seem like a sure thing for extra hp, scooping up cool air would seem even better.

The problem is, measurements have been made with and without Vipair and there is no change in the intake air temperature when Vipair is used.

If you measure the air temp in the box and the air temp outside the car while driving down the road, you will find that these temps are the same even without Vipair.

The Vipair guys have never come up with any temperature testing of their own. They just don't like the testing done by others.

Here's the thing Stu, if you buy a Vipair it will not hurt your performance. It might give you a couple of hp. Buy one if you like the look of it. Whatever.

This product attracted my attention because of the hype that Edmonton put out in his first post. He made claims that were just silly. I called the claims silly and here we are.

Edmonton claimed that the Vipair gave SOTP feeling of 50hp.
I said that there was no way anyone could feel the hp gained with Vipair.

To this day Edmonton still says that his claims were not hype.

Stu, you will never feel any hp boost created by Vipair.

Gerald,
I'm thinking the same thing. That's 365 products per year.
Man, that's a lot of new mods.

Re: VIPAIR™ Dyno Results on 99 RT 16 RWHP!!

not literly every day but I do buy things quite often but never have a chance to install them, they are piled up in my studio collecting dust.

My last item was the VEC 2 that I have yet to install.

Joe

Thanks for trying to look our best interest, because I know thats all your trying to do, I do like the looks of it to tell you the truth so im going to give it a shot anyway.

With all due respect Joe you were way off with the 70mm TB's because I noticed a nice increase, now that may be the 3" smoothies and not the TB's but I did notice a good diffrence.

If im wrong I will come on this thread and say I was wrong it did nothin for me and if it does I will some on and say so, im not selling the product so I have no reason to lie.

If im wrong i will be a man and come on here and tell you that you were right and i should have listend to you.

So, we are in agreement then. Vipair adds what feels to be about 50 HP. Got it.

Re: VIPAIR™ Dyno Results on 99 RT 16 RWHP!!

Way back in 1989, I remember my local Vette tuner, "Coast Corvette", saying they had or knew of a scoop-type system that routed intake air up over the top of the radiator, and into the intake plenum, and it was suppossed to be good for 1 psi at about 100 mph. If that was true, what would it be good for, maybe 15-20hp?

Re: VIPAIR™ Dyno Results on 99 RT 16 RWHP!!

Guys im really sorry to bump this BUT as many of you know I did buy a Vipair and I did dyno before and after and I have the results (and it does happen to be on a stock 99RT exactly what it was tested on in the first place)

Well I posted my numbers before the Vipair which were 437 RWHP and 468 RWTQ BUT I added 70mm TB's and smoothies since then but i did redyno with them pre Vipair and made 461 RWHP and 472 RWTQ (which means I gained 24 RWHP and 4 RWTQ with accufab TB's and Roe smoothies.

having 461 RWHP and 472 RWTQ Now I added the Vipair
and got 480 RWHP and 475 RWTQ grand total of 19 RWHP and 3 RWTQ added by the Vipair and it looks awesome as well, I think it was well worth the $200 bucks and even my dumb a$$ installed it with no problems and i am no DIY'r.

BTW the next mods I need to have installed (Chuck T.)are the VEC 2 and my jesel rockers.

So, Vipair adds about 20 easy HP?
Do they make 'em for my Honda lawnmower?
Man, that's some kind of easy HP!
Everyone should add Vipair. Why doesn't someone tell D-C about Vipair?
