Viper Pace Car at Vancouver Grand Prix

Caught the last 15 minutes of the Vancouver Grand Prix last night (must have been a replay) and noticed that a blue GTS (no stripes) pacesetting! Really upset me that I was only able to catch glimpses of the car (and Asley Judd

). It's as if people might want to watch the race and NOT see the Viper!!!??? Geeze. Did anyone else see the car? Seemed like a non-stock color...sort of a light sapphire - medium blue.

I know ALL ABOUT that car!

-Was the show Viper at the 1998 Detroit Int'l Auto Show.
-Originally dark candy read, w/ creme snake logo rear quarters.
-Then became the PPG Pace Car in same colors.
-Then evolved to the current MCI WorldCom Pace Car.

PPG blue, reminicent of the 97 GTS blue, but darker. Has some purpley undertones. Red-Orange MCI stripe logo. MCI logo colors

Mopar ECU, BBS LM wheels, full roll cage and fire suppression.
MoPar Exhaust.

I sat in and started it a couple times, and have the car-show exhaust off of it! Chrysler is a Molson-Indy sponsor, so they use a Viper. The Pac-NW VCA and the BC VCA has twice provided the pre-race parade cars as well..........

That was great to see one of our own out there, pacing the field.

Lately I've gotten a little experience at the track, and I have to say that Vipers are the coolest thing since sliced bread. I really love mine.

Thats what makes it even cooler to see it on the track as a pace car, 'cause you know what it can do!

No one can really understand something until they experience it first hand, then you can talk!
